Section 1

The 7-day free trial

Every new ParaCrash subscriber receives a 7-day trial period. During this period:

Simple summary: Start the trial, use ParaCrash for up to 7 days completely free, and cancel before day 8 to owe nothing.
Section 2

Your statutory right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have a 14-day "cooling off" period to cancel a digital subscription and receive a refund.

However, by signing up for a ParaCrash subscription (or starting a trial), you expressly request that we begin supplying the digital service immediately, and you acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel under these Regulations once the service has been fully performed or once you have used any part of it.

In practice this means:

Section 3

How to cancel your subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time using either method:

1
Via your dashboard (instant, recommended) Log in → Dashboard → "Manage subscription" → cancel via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation is confirmed immediately. No email or contact needed.
2
Via email Email [email protected] from your registered address and request cancellation. We will action it within 1 business day and send confirmation.

After cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again.

Section 4

Refunds after first payment

Because ParaCrash is a digital service that is immediately and fully accessible upon subscription, we operate a no-refund policy for completed billing periods where the service has been used. This is consistent with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (digital content exemption).

We will consider a refund or goodwill gesture in the following exceptional circumstances:

To request a refund, email [email protected] with your registered email address and the reason. We will respond within 5 business days.

Section 5

Usage-based charges

In addition to the monthly subscription, usage-based charges may apply if you exceed your free monthly allowances:

These charges are separate from and in addition to the £1.99 monthly subscription. Usage allowances reset at the start of each billing month. Refunds for usage charges are not available once the simulation or exam has been started, as the AI compute cost has been incurred.

Section 6

Payment failures

If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry the charge up to three times over several days. During this period your account may be marked as "Payment pending" and you may retain limited access. If all retries fail, your access will be paused and you will receive an email. You can restore access immediately by updating your payment details in the billing portal via your dashboard.

Section 7

About our pricing

ParaCrash costs £1.99/month — we have kept this price as low as possible. The subscription fee exists solely to cover the cost of AI compute (Anthropic/Claude API), server hosting, and platform maintenance. We do not profit from subscriptions. The low price is made possible because we run this platform as student developers alongside our own degree studies.

Section 8
